Bosnia and Herzegovina head coach Sergej Barbarez has announced the squad for the upcoming September and October 2026 UEFA Nations League fixtures. Veteran captain Edin Dzeko has been called up but confirmed he will retire from international football after the October 2nd match against Sweden.
Dzeko will end his remarkable international career following the Sweden fixture in October. In a social media post, the legendary striker revealed his emotions. "Sometimes I found myself wondering when this moment would come… But I never imagined how emotional I would feel writing these words." Dzeko said.
The goalkeepers are Nikola Vasilj, Martin Zlomislić and Salko Hamzić. The defence includes Sead Kolašinac, Amar Dedić, Nihad Mujakić, Nikola Katic, Tarik Muharemović, Stjepan Radeljić and Zinedin Smajlović.
The midfield features Ivan Šunjić, Ivan Bašić, Kenan Busuladžić, Ermin Mahmić, Nail Omerović, Amar Memić, Armin Gigović, Kerim Alajbegović and Esmir Bajraktarević. The forwards are Ermedin Demirović, Jovo Lukić, Samed Baždar, Haris Tabaković and Edin Dzeko. Standby players are Dennis Hadžikadunić, Benjamin Tahirović, Ajdin Hasić and Dino Beširović.
